Dr. O’Day was on call the day I was in labor last month. She came to my room & told me she didn’t agree with the VBAC birth plan my doctor (in her practice) and I had come up with and wouldn’t support it. She then went on to tell me about the brain dead baby she delivered the prior week during a vbac and asked if that was something I wanted to risk. I found this to be so inappropriate to say to a mom in labor. When I declined her request for an immediate c section, she never came to my room again. I found it humorous that she told me I was in grave danger of my baby being harmed but then didn’t provide any follow up care or counsel.

I would highly advise against treating with this doctor as she did not seem very knowledgeable, rushed me through my 10 minute appointment (after making me wait 1:15 mins past my appointment time), and refused to order the necessary tests to check on my health concerns and well being.

She was rude and refused to answer medical questions. She also told me I’m asking too many questions. When I requested an ultrasound to check on my implants that are over 10 years old she stated that she would not do that and I need to go see a plastic surgeon. This is clearly a health related issue (not cosmetic) and that is why I came to see her. I shouldn’t have to go to a plastic surgeon when I have PPO medical insurance precisely for this reason.

Dr. O’Day was my doctor during my 4th child’s pregnancy and delivery in 2019. We have moved a lot and I have delivered in several states and had several different doctors during my pregnancies. She was the worst doctor I’ve ever had. She was obviously overbooked and rushed at each appointment. As this was my 4th baby I was not a very demanding patient. She was kind and friendly even though she made light of any complications I had. She obviously never knew who I was and more importantly never checked the paperwork before or during appointments so when there were problems during my pregnancy and tests that needed to be done or results checked, I had to remind her at each appointment. She did the bare minimum to help me with my pregnancy complications and I was so grateful it was my fourth baby so I knew what needed to be done and could make sure it was taken care of. Thankfully the last month or so I was lucky enough to meet with her NP Delia who is wonderful and helped me with everything and more. She was attentive, knowledgeable and helped me with so so many things. I wish I would’ve met with Delia the entire pregnancy and just skipped Dr. O’Day entirely.

I had my first baby with Dr. O’Day and she was wonderful. She spent lots of time with us at each visit, and made sure to answer all my questions. Anything I felt anxious about, being a first time pregnancy, she walked me through. I would highly recommend her. We will definitely be going back to her again with my next pregnancy. Her office staff and NP are great as well! (I had some insurance issues and they made sure to work it all out so I could continue to see her).

Dr. Oday is really good and nice Doctor also, she is really good with patience and, explains everything perfectly. You can ask as many questions she takes the time to answer them. Her office and her staff communication skills very very poor even on the phone. You have to wait on the phone almost to hour to be answered not only that when in office they dont listen well when you talk to them they are just typing and not looking at you. On the phone or in person you cant feel the acknowledgement. I wont change Dr. cause I have no problem with Dr. Oday But the staff needs improvements.

It’s taken me nearly 10 years to write this, partly because I take no joy in writing negative reviews that can harm a person’s reputation, and partly because it took the expertise of other doctors to validate how terribly I was treated during the birth of my first child. But I’m writing this because I hope other women, especially first time moms, will be spared of the maltreatment I experienced. I was so disappointed with my experience, especially because Dr. O’Day’s father delivered me into the world, he is a wonderful man who I greatly admire, and I had such high hopes for my experience with his daughter. During the birthing process, Dr. O’Day abruptly stopped my epidural without any warning. I asked her why I was feeling so much pain, and she said, “our monitors aren’t picking up your contractions, so we need you to feel them.” I later found out when having my subsequent children that stopping an epidural is not protocol in a scenario in which monitors fail. I was really unprepared for giving birth without an epidural because I just figured I would have one, and I was in so much agony and screaming and she literally laughed at some of my screams. Then, because I had tore during birth she was going to give me stiches, but she literally started stiching me up without any anesthetic and without any warning! As I felt the needle going in, I said, “aren’t you going to numb it?!” And she responded, visibly annoyed, “oh, you want something?” As if my request to not feel a needle stiching up my ripped vagina was a huge inconvenience to her. Dr. O’Day delivered my first child so I had no basis of comparison to know what normal was, but I have since had 2 natural childbirths from different doctors and it was a night and day experience- now that I know what a positive and supportive birthing experience is like, it has made me realize how abusive and wrong my first experience was. Again, I do not like writing negative reviews and it was a hard decision to share this, especially because I respect her dad and adore her Nurse Practitioner who is a genuinely caring professional, but I felt my experience was nothing short of abusive. I just hope that she has improved as an empathetic professional over the past decade and has treated other women better than she felt the need to treat me.

My last appointment I felt so rushed and didn't feel I was given the chance to ask any additional questions. I was given a short answer when I asked one question but the entire appointment with the DR was less than 5 minutes and she was standing near the door for most of it, making me feel like an inconvenience. I had called and left a message three weeks ago and the staff returned my call today to make sure it had gotten handled at the appointment and I feel I'm on hold for at least 20 minutes every time I need to leave a message or speak to the nurse. The staff was fine and never had any issues with them but I am thinking about changing providers as I feel my needs are not always addressed completely and my anxiety is never calmed when things arise.
