This is a nice little place within the very popular and bustling Shanghai Plaza. Not quite a hole in the wall but also not as big as a full sit down place. It has a good amount of selection, but not so much to inspire decision paralysis. In terms of food, it’s best described as Japanese inspired comfort food, imagine sandwiches where the buns are rice and seaweed warped, handling requires a little practice, it can get messy like a quadruple stack burger with everything on top. Price is fair for the area, we got a bunch of stuff to try, including “Spider” which is a soft shell crab sandwich, delicious. Give it a go. Hope y’all enjoy.

The onigiri is all really good and around $10 after taxes and tip
One can fill up a small eater.

In particular, I liked the fried Oyster basket, fried shrimp tempura onigiri, and chicken katsu curry onigiri.

Tons of vegetarian options, and you can sub vegetables spam for some other options.

Unlike the conventional triangular Onigiri, the offerings at O.Onigiri boast a unique twist. They feature delectable fillings such as spam and egg omelet, expertly complemented by an array of additional ingredients, including seafood, meats, and vegetables, for added flavor.

During my visit to O.Onigiri, I indulged in a culinary adventure that impressed and utterly satisfied me. The "Spider" Onigiri, a delightful fusion of fried soft-shell crab, crisp cucumber, and luscious unagi sauce, captivated my palate with its harmonious blend of textures and flavors. Each bite was a symphony of crispy, succulent, and savory goodness that left me craving more.

Equally enticing was the "Aji Fry" Onigiri, featuring crispy horse mackerel coated in a golden panko breading and accompanied by tangy tonkatsu sauce. It was served atop a bed of crisp lettuce and juicy tomato. The juxtaposition of crunchy exterior and tender, flavorful fish was sublime, offering a delightful interplay of textures and tastes that danced across my taste buds with every bite.

Last but certainly not least, the Bulgogi Onigiri captured my heart with its savory allure and irresistible aroma. Tender slices of marinated beef infused with the rich flavors of soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil nestled within a comforting embrace of warm rice created a symphony of savory goodness that left me craving more.

Moreover, the restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, with a cozy and welcoming feel that made me feel right at home. The immaculate service was impeccable, with the servers always on hand to ensure every need was met and every desire fulfilled. The staff was knowledgeable about the dishes and offered recommendations based on their personal favorites.

Overall, my experience at O.Onigiri was nothing short of exceptional. From the warm and inviting ambiance to the impeccable service and, most importantly, the mouthwatering array of Okinawa-style Onigiri, each aspect of my visit surpassed expectations. Nice little dine-in or takeout spot in the small mall of eateries and a few shops. Was seeking something easy & light plus quick. Quite an assortment of onigiri. I got the soft shell crab one and it was delicious.

We enjoyed our visit here. The ingredients seemed to be good quality and I feel like it's a pretty good value. I also think these are more like a snack than a full meal. We grabbed a couple of the apps and shared everything to make it a filling experience.

The The Takoyaki was great, and the clam chowder croquettes were good too. The Onigiri itself was also tasty, but the sauce was put on unevenly and some spots were dry, and other spots over-saturated, making each bite a bit different. Not the end of the world surely, but it makes a difference to me.

It's not quite a sit-down experience, but they do have tables for you to sit at and eat once you receive your food, with limited drink options. I would come back again to grab one, as they would make a better stop than any fast food place and it's roughly the same price.

Cool concept, cute but very tiny space. I got the original and it was tasty, but nothing to write home about. The spicy edamame was solid. Good flavor, spice level, and portion size. Good place for a quick snack.
