I recently had a severe fracture in my hand that required surgery. The timing of my injury couldn’t have been worse and I came into the Coastal Ortho office worried about everything from the timing and level of care that I would receive to the fact that I would only have one hand for weeks to come which was going to affect virtually every aspect of my life.

When I walked in the door, I was greeted by a friendly voice who quickly took my information and got me to an exam room exactly at my appointment time. Then I was greeted by another friendly voice who turned out to be the kindest nurse that I had ever met. She made jokes and used her incredible bedside manner to put me at ease and it seemed like all was right in the world. After she was done I waited in the room for the doctor to come. At this point my worries were solely about whether or not the doctor was going to be experienced enough to perform the surgery and give me back full use of my hand. What I was looking for was different than what I was hoping from the rest of the staff. I wanted an experienced, no nonsense orthopedic surgeon who was knowledgeable and still somehow kind. I got that from Dr. Singh. A young but experienced go getter that was confident in the results that she could provide. I had my surgery and while I have enough metal in my hand to refill my toolbox at home, I have had minimal pain during my recovery.

While I met all of these people only once (twice with Dr. Singh thus far) they made a wonderful impression. The icing on the cake however has been Selena Crespo. An actual angel. She has been in contact with me multiple times, from the first day when I spoke with her in her office when scheduling the surgery, to her informative emails and updates, to making herself available for my questions throughout this whole process. Every question I have asked has been met with information, a solution, and a smile. She has been the calm in my storm and Coastal Ortho should be proud to have her. Part of my job is to build and train sales teams/programs and anyone in business will tell you that the keys to scaling success and revenue growth lie in what you do post sale (or care in this case). No one wants to think of healthcare as a business when it comes to your own care, but Selena alone has won my business. If I ever have another injury that requires an orthopedic visit or consult, I’ll be coming here. You should too, you won’t regret it.

*I have my post op coming and OT to follow, so I’ll update my review with additional information once I go through those. For now, thank you Coastal Ortho for adding a level of connotation to the word “care” that I haven’t seen in a while.

For Dr. Singh: This review would likely have been a 5 but unfortunately due to some very basic ethics being violated I had a poor experience and would recommend anyone who thinks of using their services be aware and potentially search elsewhere. Went in for a simple procedure, agreed to a price and said I would pay 100% of the price upfront on day of surgury. I paid , got the surgury and healed. Months later I receive a $500 additional bill, raising the agreed upon price after the charge had been made and months had passed. Imagine you go for an oil change. You pay $50 then they call you 3 weeks after and send you a bill for another $50 claiming they decided the price was actually $100. Shady. Was absolutely not expecting this from this establishment.

My first visit was 4 weeks ago and I still don’t even know what is wrong with my knee. In my initial appointment my doctor literally was talking to me on his way out the door. I also have not been able to contact anybody about getting MY medical records. Do yourself a favor and find someone that will actually make time for you and take care of you.

My grandmother and I have been patients of Coastal Ortho for years and we’ve had the best experience with Dr. Park and his staff. We are so happy with Dr Park, we drive almost 2 hours just to come in for appointments. Dr. Park is very intelligent, he listens to all of your concerns and he is quick to come up with a plan of action for your specific needs. Not only is Dr. Park an excellent Physician, he genuinely cares about his patients on a personal level.
